As you may well know, we love awesome art and design here at Awesome Merch. So much so that we got heavily involved with the Poster Roast series last year. Well here's an awesome event that showcases amazing art as well as being a must for any serious fan of Star Wars. I'm in both camps - if only I lived closer! Maybe I could ask Han Solo to pick me up in his Millenium Falcon? That last sentence is probably the worst sentence I've ever written. Not in terms of grammar but in terms of terrible cheese. Anyway, I spoke to Barry Darnell who's the curator of the event and he had this to say...
"With the @Starwarsleeds event drawing ever closer we wanted to share some sneak peeks of the art that will be on display and available to purchase! The amazing selection here comes courtesy of: @WeMakeStuff @abell_octovan @Dougy74Design @kbaczynski @rabbitportal @banalpig
As well as the art there will be a huge vintage toy exhibition, live music, Youtube visuals mixed live by @timineaux , A pop up shop selling both vintage and new Star Wars merchandise, a screening of 'A New Hope' and much much more! This is going to be one hell of a party.... Fancy dress is not essential but feel free to come as your favourite character:)
If you fancy winning a pair of tickets to the Star Wars - May the 4th launch party and a really cool Darth Vader clock from @truffleshuffle_? Well, we're looking for true Star Wars fans! Simply tweet a picture of yourself in Star Wars themed fancy dress along with this message "I'm a true Star Wars fan and I want to win #Maythe4thbewithyou @truffleshuffle_ @thehanggang @starwarsleeds" That's it!
Full comp info here, tickets for the launch party are still available here, and additional info here!"
So to sum this up. Star Wars + amazing art + huge collection of Star Wars memorabilia. Definitely a winner! I'm just gonna give a quick shout out to Sean Mort and Kristyna Baczynski who both work at Awesome Merch. They're both very talented designers and lovely people. Check them out! You can see some of Kristyna's amazing art at the Star Wars event.
That's it for another blog! If you've got anything you think will make an awesome blog, then tweet us!
How are you? Apologies for the terrible title of this blog but it's a Sunday, my brain isn't totally functioning and it's all that I've got. Glad that's out of the way. On with the art! On the weekend of March 31st/April1st we invited Drew Millward to paint our office the colour of awesome. He kindly obliged and the outcome is incredibly awesome! You can watch the video here and see some amazing photos here. Please check out Drew's website as he is incredibly talented. Video wise, we must also thank Blacklisters for the heavy tune and Fresh Cut for the fresh cut. Glad I spelt that last link correctly. If you're tweeting about it, then please use #thegreatwallofdrew tag.
You can also see the video on Vimeo! and pick up Drew's Poster Roast shirt here.

Okay, that's enough from me! Stay in touch and keep it awesome.
For one week only, Awesome Merchandise customers Jealous Gallery are hosting the window-space at swanky homewares brand Heals’ flagship Tottenham Court Road store in London - they’re filling the space with a pop-up print shop turning out freshly-screened prints from various artists they work with.
The artists, designers and illustrators will be on hand to chat about the event, the printing process and their art. And as well as the original and limited edition artworks they and the Jealous team will be creating during the exhibition, you’ll also have the opportunity to pull your own prints, and even print your own ‘moustache mask’ (we do love a good moustache...)!
Obviously this has tickled our fancy here at Awesome Merchandise HQ...but it’s a bit of a jaunt from Leeds!
If you’re down in London this week, then mosey on down to the Heals’ store on Tottenham Court Road - the pop-up studio is open all week until Sunday 5th February. You don’t need tickets to get in, or to get involved, so give it a whirl!
Check out the event on the Jealous Gallery website here, and on the Heals' website here...and if you're heading down, have an awesome time!
Jhon here with loads of awesome news in my now more than weekly blog. I hope you enjoy reading them more than I enjoy looking at Piers Morgan's head. His head annoys me so much! Argh!
So here we go. We have a brand new Poster Roast shirt design by West Yorkshire's finest - ARMY OF CATS or Graham D Pilling to be more exact and it is a BANGER! I love it and I'm not just saying this because it's my job to promote them. Luke Hodson is sending me one today! Gonna cut the sleeves off and walk round like a proper punk. Ahem. Anyway, you can buy one for the measly sum of £10 from here. Please check out the Army of Cats website and tell Graham how awesome he is! You can still pick up the old designs too from here. I think this one is gonna sell fast, so don't delay!
Next on my promotional agenda is our new special offers! We got some new deals as well as old favourites. This month we have started money saving offers on mugs, badges and zipper pulls. Check 'em out!
As always, we now have our current weekly badge and sticker giveaway! Just tweet, comment or send us in a picture and you could be a winner. More blurb here. Just make them Awesome Merch related!
Okay, I've gotta zoom off but here's two pictures for you. One of them is a terrifying skull and the other one is a terrifyingly smug numbskull. Love and hate. Enjoy!
I need some more introductions to these blogs and my Facebook posts, I feel they're all getting a bit similar. I'm sorry guys, I will stay in tonight and practice hard.
Anyway, moving swiftly along with our new Poster Roast design! Luke Drozd is the artist in question this month. He's created something which can only be described as his own take on an 'Awesome Town.' I'm not sure if 'town' should be capatalized there or if I've even spelled (spelt) 'capatalized' correctly. Argh!
Luke's design is totally different to the other two designs we've had so far from Wethreeclub and Drew Millward - I for one love it and I will be insisting that Luke Hodson sends me a shirt to complete my collection thus far. I know I'm gonna end up with all six. Maybe you should too! Maybe we should sort some prizes out for anyone that collects all six and sends us in a photo - in fact we will! So collect the set and we'll reward you handsomely.
So that's all for now friends, go grab yourself an awesome new shirt and remember every order we receive over the next month will pick up a copy of the print on a poster and postcard! Hooray!
How are we all? Good news for you all. After the fantastic success of last month's Drew Millward shirt and design, we've got round two on the Poster Roast front! We're really happy to have had two totally awesome but different designs for the first two months of the series.
This month sees the turn of the fabulous WETHREECLUB. Based in Cambridge, this artistic duo have created a design for us that's based on some cats having a radical party. What could be cooler? I'd love to go to a party with some cats and get radical! You can see the design below and you can find out more about Wethreeclub on their website linked above. I stayed round their house once on tour and got my curly hair straightened - it might have been the cats!
If you wanna buy the limted edition shirt for only ten golden nuggets, then you can from this link. The page will tell you more about the designers and about the other forthcoming fantastic people we have lined up for you! Collect the set and you'll be the coolest cat in town, or even at the party.
Remember all AwesomeMerchandise orders this month will recieve an A3 poster and postcard with the design on.
I trust that you're all well? Right without further ado, let's get cracking with something seriously AWESOME!
Here at Awesome Merchandise, we spend all day looking at artwork. Either we're receiving it, changing it, approving it for print or finally getting it printed for all you lovely lot. So now it's time to start celebrating the amazing art and the astounding artists! We've teamed up with the great people over at Poster Roast who specialise in developing and helping poster artists all across the U.K. They organise exhibitions which incorporate some of our top artists as well as live screenprinting and music.
Our plan over the next six months is to release a monthly limited run of 50 t-shirts, with posters and postcards being sent out free with every order we receive during that period! The only brief for the artist is to draw something that they think is awesome! After all they're the creative ones! The aim being to show off some of the best artists in the country whilst you guys get the chance to purchase an absolutely awesome shirt! So everyone gets a piece of the pie.
First up is Leeds' very own Drew Millward. I'm already a fan of Drew as he lists Husker Du as one of his favourite bands. You can see his design below and if it floats your boat (it will) you can pick up a limited edition shirt right here for only £10!
