Hello music fans!
How are you all? Super, me too. Now, I love a bit of music. I’m sure you do too. Whether you’re a fan of James Blunt, partial to some of The Script, Status Quo float your musical boat, or you only like 2Unlimited (No, no, no, no, no etc), then I’m sure there’s something that gets your foot tapping and posterior shaking. Even Anthony from production who says he doesn’t like music, is partial to some Professor Green. Music fact; Professor Green isn’t actually a professor. Don’t say I don’t ever teach you anything.
I mentioned quite a few bands in the first paragraph, and to be honest, all of those bands make a perfect mix of exactly what Sonic Boom Six sound like. I of course, am joking. There’s none of The Script in their sound. I’ve known SB6 for years; my old band Pickled Dick even did a 2 week tour with them back in 2007 and Mike TV have had the honour of playing many shows with them, including a couple of memorables in Holland. You may be shouting ‘favouritism’ and ‘sycophantic’ at your computer right now. You’d be wrong. SB6 (whether I namecheck them as mates or not) have been one of the hardest working D.I.Y bands over the last 10 years, and here at Awesome Merch, we’re proud to be printing their latest batch of shirts. You can see some of the designs below, and if you like them, you can buy them from their online shop, right here.
SB6 are made up of four men and one lady, although drummers don’t really count as having a definitive gender, due to being entirely their own species. You may be thinking, that’s only 5 people BUT the six came from how high in feet that Barney dreams of being. In-joke there. Sorry. He’s a small chap. Anyway, jokes aside, Sonic Boom Six are off on tour throughout November and they’ll be supported on all dates my the magnificent Imperial Leisure. Mike TV will open the Andover show (cheeky plug there). They’ve also got a brand new album out, which is imaginatively called ‘Sonic Boom Six’, and you can pick up a copy here. It’s getting rave reviews, which is strange because it’s not really a rave album. It’s also been released by Xtra Mile, which is a big deal because they were the home of Frank Turner, and he opened up The Olympics. So that’s pretty damn cool. We’ll have more Awesome Bands blogs soon. Tweet us about this one and use the #AwesomeBands tag. Maybe you could tell us about your awesome band? Thanks!
I think that’s it really. Please go and check their album out, and buy a shirt. Support your local bands, music scene and go to a gig! It’ll beat staying in and watching X-Factor. Trust me, it’s hard to watch X-factor when you don’t have a TV.
