Hello everyone!
Remember we had that Awesome Festivals comp a while back, where we gave away tickets to Redfest? Well we also made up all the banners for the festival and sent our along our very own Kelsea Amber to schmooze, booze and abuse for the weekend. She’s very kindly written a few words as well as taken a whole bunch of photos. Here we go…
“So this was my third year working for Redfest and it was incredible to get my current work (the wonderful Awesome Merchandise) involved!
Redfest is a great little festival based in Redhill in Surrey. With a variety of genres it suits the musical styles for most, with this years headliners being ModeStep, Kids In Glass Houses and Foreign Beggars. Along with the main stage there was an acoustic tent and an ‘Introducing’ tent, both of which doubled up as dance tents once the bands were over!
Working the merchandise and signing tent was a great experience, not only meeting great people, having a good laugh and meeting the bands, but seeing how kind and friendly everybody was, especially when it came to donating to Redfest’s main charity, The Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Due to a horrific accident, the organizer’s son was in a car crash and the only reason he is still alive is due to The Wiltshire Air Ambulance crew that saved his life. Billy Nichols is growing a ‘tache in aid to raise money for the charity, check out the fundraising page just here. If you would like to donate to the cause then have a quick look here too.
Anyway, band highlights!:
Brother & Bones – just incredible, they send shivers down my spine when they play!
Deaf Havana – An amazing band, always put on a great show!
Modestep – For all you little ravers out there, this bands a good’en!
Foreign Beggars – Not my usual cup of tea, but the best ending to the festival there could be!
Proxies – Filled the tent, pumped the tunes, can’t wait until they next tour! (Check them out at Reading and Leeds festival this summer!)
Don Broco – BONER FOR BROCO. that’s right, a fan got a boner over broco, and felt up by the band to make sure it was genuine! Never seen such great crowd interaction!
Missing Andy – Love these guys, really catchy songs to sing and dance to!
There were so many more but cramming them all into a little blurb will take forever!
Thank you to all those that came and here’s a few pics to show you the highlights of the weekend!
