York City Football Club - can you help?

Hello everyone!

Firstly, may I wish you a very Happy New Year from myself. I'm looking forward to working with you all again this year and making 2012 awesome for everyone. Today we finally hit 4,000 followers on our Twitter, so thanks for all your help. Just like Christmas, we like to give something back when we receive something. So this blog is all about helping out the football club - York City. The irony of this is that Mansfield Town (the team I support) just fought out two hard earned draws with the York boys over the Christmas period and then I get asked to do this!

Anyway, James from HQ brought this to my attention and asked if we could help the campaign to get them a new stadium. Not one to shy away from a challenge, I spoke to the people who are behind the "A Stadium For York Campaign." So here's how you can help out the football club who are currently nestled fifth in The Blue Square Premier.

"The best way people can support the new stadium is to write to or email the planning officer in charge of the application: Michael Jones, City of York Council Planning Department, 9 St Leonard's Place, York, YO1 7ET
Or planning.enquiries@york.gov.uk. All correspondence needs to reference the planning application number - 11/02581/OUTM.

If people don't have the time to write their own letter, they can submit a form on the www.astadiumforyork.com website and that goes straight through to the planning officer.

We're also encouraging people to write to their local MP and Councillors - the best way of finding who represents you and their contact details is the website www.writetothem.com
